Teaching and Learning Online: Connecting Students Globally through Stanford e-Japan and the Reischauer Scholars Program

Date and Time

April 28, 2016 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Online education offers new opportunities to connect students across borders in engaging and interactive ways. The Stanford Program on International and Cross-Cultural Education (SPICE) at Stanford University offers two online courses—one to students in the United States, and one to students in Japan—and connects the two student cohorts to develop global competence and diverse perspectives on the United States, Japan, and U.S.–Japan relations.

In this webinar, course instructors will provide an overview of these programs, and students of each class will share their own perspectives and experiences. Participants will learn about how SPICE is using online teaching to connect students globally, and are encouraged to share their own experiences and suggestions for enhancing the online educational experience for globally-connected students.

This is a Global Leadership Week event. Find other events at http://www.globaledleadership.com/global-leadership-day-conference.html.
