Stanford e-Entrepreneurship U.S. Frequently Asked Questions

For the general course description and content, please visit the dedicated Stanford e-Entrepreneurship U.S. (SEUS) webpage at https://spice.fsi.stanford.edu/fellowship/stanford-e-entrepreneurship-us.

Q: How much does the Stanford e-Entrepreneurship U.S. Program cost?

A: It is free to all participants, thanks to anonymous donors.

Q: Are high school seniors allowed to apply?

A: We prioritize high school sophomores and juniors, mainly for two reasons. Firstly, seniors tend to be busier with the college application process, and we want the participants to maximize their co-learning journey with full presence and focus. Secondly, seniors are very close to the opportunities made available to explore entrepreneurship in college while sophomores and juniors still have years to access those resources. Having said that, for some high school seniors (for example, those anticipating a gap year or not having to go through the college application process) these reasons may not apply, or there may be other reasons why it is particularly important for them to explore entrepreneurship with this course, at this moment. If you are a high school senior and think that the selection committee should make an exception for you, please submit your application and clearly state in one of the essay questions why we should consider your application despite your year in high school.

Q: Are high school freshmen allowed to apply?

A: No. Please wait until you are a sophomore.

Q: How competitive is the admissions process?

A: SPICE has a general policy against disclosing the number of applicants to our various courses. Please note that Stanford e-Entrepreneurship U.S. is a highly selective course that targets exceptional high school students who think outside the box, work collaboratively to create positive impact, enjoy solving problems, and use creativity and curiosity to face challenges.

Q: I have applied to SEUS before and was unsuccessful. Should I apply again?

A: Yes, please do. Many factors are considered in the selection process, including the combination of the participants’ backgrounds.
